ACCESS PLATFORM

FABRICATION:

24m steel access platform

INDUSTRY:

Glass Processing | Time Frame: Four Weeks | Staffing: 6 People

DESCRIPTION:

Our client required a steel access platform spanning 24m over two flat bed glass cutting lines. The whole construction was designed from scratch with close consultation with the client to ensure optimal function, safety and aesthetic appeal. The final design had steel checkplate floor and treads, four sets of stairs to access separate isolated areas, steel kick boards to prevent anything falling onto the glass below and a square central area where operators could stand to control the machine with full vision of the whole cutting process.

CHALLENGES:

The layout and function of the cutting lines below the access platform had to be carefully considered so that the final design would not obstruct any machine or process in the cutting area. Furthermore, the machines were only partially installed at the time of design so consultation with the machine installers was also required.

The final design works very well and looks great!
